Affordable Body Psychotherapy

Some of you may like to take advantage of discounted body psychotherapy sessions with our graduating students. Students have been trained by our institute and are closely supervised by an experienced Core Energetics trainer.

Your sessions would be much the same as with a graduated therapist except that your student therapist will be checking in their progress with you with a supervisor in between sessions. This is a great way to access great expertise at a small price.

Student therapist sessions range between
$50 – $60,
and you would need to commit to completing five sessions over a period of no more than 3 months with your student therapist.

Kate has worked as a teacher and professional artist and is in her fourth year of Advanced Body Psychotherapy studies. She is passionate about helping you build confidence and a strong foundation for meaningful action in the world.

Sarah Pickup

Sarah has been a client of Body Psychotherapy since 2010 and began her training with the Institute of Body Psychotherapy in 2020.
Sarah has experienced first-hand the gradual and powerful ways that a commitment to Body Psychotherapy can improve sense of self, relationships, mental & physical health, and the ability to be more fully in life.
Her experience as a client sparked Sarah’s interest in becoming a therapist.

Penelope Simmonds

Penelope is a passionate therapist. With over 15 years of experience working as a physiotherapist she works extensively with clients to rehabilitate and recover from injuries to the body and the brain including chronic pain and stroke.
Penelope commenced the Diploma of Integrated Somatic Psychotherapy at the Institute of Body Psychotherapy to bring holistic care to her clients. With extensive knowledge of how the brain and body works she realised one can’t heal the body without engaging the mind and the soul.
Penelope uses a variety of body-oriented techniques to assist clients to be present, calm their nervous systems, release tension from their bodies & express feelings. She is dedicated to helping clients find more joy and pleasure, create healthier relationships and move more towards what they want for themselves in life.

Amber McBride

Amber’s journey into body psychotherapy began after a career devoted
to capturing people’s life stories as a documentary filmmaker. She is
now in the final stages of her training, benefiting from close
supervision by an experienced therapist.

Having been a client of clinical psychology, Amber encountered the
limitations of traditional talk therapy. Her quest for more holistic
and enduring transformation led her to discover the profound potential
of body psychotherapy. After years of her own therapy and training,
Amber is deeply grateful for the opportunity to guide clients on their
path toward lasting transformation in their lives.

Amber’s experiential training has strengthened her belief that a
therapist can more effectively guide clients to places they’ve
personally explored. In her practice, she provides a warm, open, and
creative space where deep transformation can flourish.

As part of her Body Psychotherapy accreditation, Amber offers
discounted student sessions. In-person appointments are available in
